Fashion Studio Photoshoot

For these pieces i have decided i need to shoot a lot more in studio based scenarios to get to grips with different lighting. I wanted to also experiment with motion and capturing it through out my shoot. I have been research capturing that one specific moment when everything is just perfect. Then as soon as i started shooting realising that having a good model is key. Bethany was perfect just as soon as the camera was on, she just knew exactly what i was after. It was such a fun shoot to do because of the quality of images i got.

Fashion Bikini Look Book Finals

For college we had the task of shooting a look book for a fashion company. I didnt chose a brand as such but i just went with swimwear. The shoot was deathly cold, I shot at northumberland up a hill were it was 20mph winds and near freezing.
I loved my outdoor lighting, the 2 soft boxes looked great.
Have a look!

Look Book Practise

This week i took flashheads out from my college and practised with them at home. I am shooting a fashion look book for college so wanted to test lighting and poses with my model. The two Flashheads at first did have problems talking to each other with the infra red connection. The flash at first wasnt travelling far enough to hit the unit. I wanted to see how ND filters helped out with flash and shallow depth of field. The final shots came out nice. The poses work also for the swimwear i am shooting.

Levitation - Constance Moscrop

I shot this today near my home in Newcastle. It was in Chopwell Woods which is a woodlands park where dog walkers go and there are hiking trail and mountain bike tracks. This whole shoot was inspired by a contrast of life and death. Life being the white dress which goes with marriage. Then death is her pose as if she was lying in a coffin. I had her lay across my friends back for this photo then took him out in photoshop. I loved using the shallow depth of field with the 50mm 1.4 so all the focus was on her. The focus really fell off the subject quickly.

Portrait - Francesca Cotton

Today i went out with a close friend and shot some portraits to boost my portfolio and also fran's modelling portfolio. I love some of the shots. Also this was the first chance i had to use my new 50mm f1.4 on a portrait shoot and it performed flawlessly.

Live Brief Final

Today i shot some photos of Bethany Cowling. They were for my final shoot for the Live Brief we were set by photographer Daniel Marston. I was inspired by some fashion shots i saw, where they crop the head out of the photos and its only the torso. I found this to add a sexy feel to the photo. I really wanted a sexy and raunchy feel to my photo so i decided to incorporate this into my finals.

Portrait - Keshia

I got the opportunity to photograph the model Keshia at Daniel Marston's Studio on Tuesday.
